It’s been a month, and I still haven’t gotten much further on the blog/site basis… Sudden and constant overtime at work caught be by surprise and melted away the month of May, so I just thought I’d share our tremendously large poster on the side of a building near the Staples Center for E3!
E3 was tons of fun (one of the perks of my job is that I got PAID to go). I’ll probably never have time to make an elaborate post about it though. Just check facebook for a few cool pics.

Blog CPR

Time to revive this sucker. I made a post in April 2 years ago, some of you might remember, most of you won’t. I talked about the inevitability of every blog I’ve ever created failing miserably because I cease to update it for whatever reason, generally because I’m uninspired and stop caring about writing in it, I guess? Well, the same thing happened to this blog. This marks the first blog ever I’m giving CPR to, of the dozens I’ve had. I just really like tumblr’s functionality, and I kept using it long after I stopped posting here. Anyway, I’m going to keep this one short, but expect big things in the future. I’m going to re-integrate this into another website, start reviewing movies again probably, and generally keep people updated on my well-being. As a side note, special thanks to Peter Vidani for the sweet theme. I’ve had it for a while, but this marks the first post while using it.

I gave up on sea-top ferries when I discovered Silver City, a mid-century phenomenon that flew cars over the Channel. The people sat in the 15 lap-belted seats that ran in a few rows athwart the plane — a Bristol Freighter, I think. Wide things. I’m not sure how many cars fit, but there was usually even last-minute room for a Mini. It fit neatly crosswise in the nose.
I remember a car carrying flight to Rotterdam when I was taking Mama to Moscow in a Mini (alliteration gets to me). I sat in one of those seats, gazing at my red, black-topped Mini some 20 feet away. The ultimate carry-on.

Stephen LaBerge proposed two ways to prolong a lucid dream … The second technique is rubbing one’s hands … Results showed 90% of dreams were prolonged by hand rubbing.

(via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream#Reality_testing)

I read this a few minutes before going to sleep, and the hand-rubbing trick worked perfectly for me.  I did get overexcited about the lucidity, and woke up a little while later, but the fact that I was able to recognize, and prolong the dream was a definite personal victory.

From that page:

“Other techniques include shouting in a loud and clear voice, “INCREASE LUCIDITY!” inside the dream. People are often reluctant to do this, but it significantly stabilizes the dream and increases its vividness.”

…that made me laugh out loud.

I had no idea Firefox was put together by kids.

Have you ever written an extension for it?

Or right-clicked with multiple monitors?

Or tried to move one of its other windows while the download window was open?

Firefox is barely held together by sticks and duct tape. I’m amazed it works as well as it does.

Yeah, I have at one point tried all of those things except #2. The best part about the extensions is when they decide to change 100% of it with a new release. The only extension I’ve tried writing was actually for Firefox 1.0. The only documentation at the time was the bug-me-not example application. Ugh.

Wait, people are just noticing NOW with version 3 that firefox is a piece of steaming shit?

I’ve been saying this for years… but no one ever listens to me.

So, I have salmonella?

The story came out a couple of days ago that the tomatoes in fast food joints all have salmonella. Conveniently, I went to Taco Bell wednesday night. That explains the violent puking all of friday and generally still feeling sick up to and through today… awesome.

So far, this summer really sucks. It was all good until I got into Cali… The time from the end of finals to the arrival in LA was fucking awesome, but now, everything sucks. I’m not getting any responses from job applications still, all my friends work all week, so I’m just getting depressed…

Feh.

Someone save me.
